vRad (Virtual Radiologic) is seeking a Database Engineer L3 to support its core technology platform and high-availability SQL Server Clinical Applications OLTP environments. You will design scalable solutions, write advanced T-SQL, and partner with teams to deliver data-driven applications.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, HA implementations (Failover Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping), and reporting via SSRS/SSIS/SSAS. Experience with HIPAA/PCI guidance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a computer-related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5-7 years SQL Server experience in mid to large sized environments.
• Experience with very large OLTP databases (1 TB+).
• Advanced T-SQL skills in creating/updating complex queries, procedures, tables and functions.
• Experience with HA technologies: Failover Clustering, Mirroring, Log Shipping, Replication.
• Knowledge of HIPAA/PCI/PHI/SOX in database contexts is a plus.

• Design scalable, robust SQL solutions that are maintainable and scalable.
• Write SQL statements for transactional data access and SQL Server administration.
• Collaborate with teams to build high-performing, data-driven applications.
• Create reports/queries using SSRS/SSAS/SSIS.
• Implement ETL to integrate data from disparate systems and document deliverables.
• Monitor and optimize SQL Server instances in a high-availability environment.
• Triage and resolve issues affecting SQL Server operation and performance.
• Follow change management processes for production systems.
