Job summary

vRad Database Engineer L3 supports high-performing, highly available applications in the vRad core platform, focusing on SQL Server Clinical Applications OLTP environments.

Responsibilities include designing scalable solutions, writing advanced T-SQL, implementing ETL, tuning queries, and collaborating with teams to deliver reliable, data-driven results in a fast-paced healthcare tech setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in computer-related field.
• MCITP is preferred.
• 5–7 years SQL Server experience in mid-large environments.
• Experience with large OLTP databases (1 TB+).
• Advanced T-SQL for custom queries and objects.
• HA technologies: clustering, mirroring, log shipping, replication.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable, robust solutions that are maintainable.
• Write SQL for data access, DDL, and SQL Server admin.
• Collaborate with local and remote teams on data-driven apps.
• Create reports using SSRS and SSAS with complex queries.
• Use ETL techniques to integrate disparate data.
• Document deliverables for support.
• Operate SQL Server in high-availability environments.
• Install/configure SQL Server components with clustering/mirroring.
• Design scalable storage layouts.
• Monitor and identify real-time issues.
• Triage and resolve blocking/deadlocks in SQL Server.
• Tune SQL statements as needed.
• Participate in after-hours support rotation.
• Customize products for integration with vRad platform.
• Assist with project scope and estimates.
• Deliver functionality within time estimates.
• Follow change-management processes.
• Stay current on tech trends for decision-making.
• Clarify definitions in data dictionary.
• Other duties as needed.
