Job summary

Intelerad is seeking a Senior Software Developer focused on the data layer of the InteleOrchestrator team to modernize a SQL Server-backed platform used in radiology workflows worldwide.

You will refactor schemas and queries, migrate legacy data-access code to Kotlin/jOOQ, and ensure secure, performant data access while remaining live for clinicians. The role emphasizes hands-on coding, code reviews, and delivering scalable data solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including 4+ years refactoring database code for production systems.
• Expert-level T-SQL on Microsoft SQL Server, including query optimization and indexing; PostgreSQL experience valued.
• Proven track record of refactoring large relational schemas in production.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java, building backend services with Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with Liquibase or Flyway in Git-based CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex database refactoring across large SQL Server schemas with safe migrations.
• Diagnose and resolve performance problems by reading execution plans and optimizing queries.
• Modernize data-access layer by migrating legacy SQL to type-safe Kotlin and jOOQ.
• Harden data access by preventing SQL injection and ensuring robust locking and isolation.
• Build tooling for migrations and testing with Gradle and CI/CD pipelines.
• Shape data-access standards and contribute to architectural roadmaps.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
