Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, including 4+ years refactoring database code for production systems.
• Expert-level T-SQL on Microsoft SQL Server, including indexing and performance tuning.
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and backend frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Experience with database migrations using Liquibase or Flyway.
• Strong knowledge of concurrency, locking, and transactional integrity.
• Secure data-access practices for sensitive healthcare data.
• Experience in agile teams with Gradle, Git, and modern DevOps on Windows and Linux.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex database refactoring across a large, mature SQL Server schema with safe, incremental migrations.
• Diagnose and resolve performance problems by analyzing execution plans and optimizing queries.
• Modernize the data-access layer by migrating legacy SQL in PHP/C# to Kotlin and jOOQ repositories.
• Harden data access by parameterizing queries and enforcing security and reliability standards.
• Build tooling for migrations, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized test environments.
• Define data-access standards and contribute to the InteleOrchestrator roadmap.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and knowledge sharing.
