Job summary

IT-Strat is seeking a Senior SQL Database Administrator to design, implement, and maintain enterprise databases across multiple locations. The role emphasizes availability, performance, data integrity, and DR/COOP planning.

The candidate will manage Oracle and SQL Server environments, support reporting using SSRS, and coordinate with IT leadership and stakeholders. Remote US work is supported with strong security clearances preferred.

Qualifications

• BS in Information Systems, or related experience.
• 5+ years of domain and expert database knowledge.
• Experience interacting with senior management and clients.
• Minimum of five (8) years of experience managing Oracle and SQL databases for federal or commercial clients.
• Proven ability to identify and triage issues, perform server maintenance, patching, high availability, and DR protocols.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Expertise across SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and MS Access.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, configure, and maintain complex databases in client/server environments.
• Manage backups, COOP/DR planning, and data governance artifacts.
• Support reporting and analytics needs; run queries and troubleshoot SSRS configurations.
• Provide platform connectivity and ensure application availability across locations.
