Job summary

TeAM, Inc. is seeking a Senior SQL Specialist Database Administrator to support enterprise SQL Server environments in a remote capacity.

The role focuses on tier-3 troubleshooting, AlwaysOn/FCI, backup strategies, security enforcement, and cross-platform integration across government-facing systems. Candidates should have 8+ years of SQL Server experience, strong T-SQL and scripting skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with IT and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years' experience administering enterprise SQL Server database environments.
• Strong experience with SQL Server versions, clustering, and SQL scripting.
• Proficiency in T-SQL development and scripting.
• Experience in HA/DR architectures (AlwaysOn, FCI) and patching.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex issues and conduct RCA.
• Effective communication with all staff and management.

Responsibilities

• Provide tier-3 troubleshooting, configuration, and support for SQL Server and clusters.
• Manage and support SQL Server databases including AlwaysOn, FCI, backup/recovery and patching.
• Design and govern backup/restore strategies and conduct PITR validation.
• Define security policies, encryption (TDE, Always Encrypted) and auditing.
• Respond to RFCs and incidents via ticketing system; lead incident command when needed.
• Collaborate on database builds, upgrades, and integration efforts including SharePoint.
• Proactive capacity planning and health monitoring across on-prem and cloud.
• Develop SQL scripts and automation to support operations.
