Job summary

Priority Commerce is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to ensure the stability, performance, and security of SQL Server and MySQL environments across on‑prem and AWS. You will own day‑to‑day health, monitoring, incident response, and work with Cloud Engineering and Product teams to drive reliability and scale.

The role requires 6+ years of production SQL Server experience, on‑call availability, and strong analytical and collaboration skills to balance real‑time needs with long‑term

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related field.
• 6+ years of experience supporting SQL Server databases in production.
• Strong in monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
• Ability to analyze logs, execution plans, and performance metrics.
• Experience deploying database objects across environments and managing them.
• Willingness to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
• Strong root-cause analysis, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end health, reliability, and performance of database environments.
• Review backups, maintenance, and health reports to meet SLAs.
• Respond to alerts and escalations as L3, driving root-cause actions.
• Lead performance tuning, including query optimization and index strategy.
• Collaborate with Database Engineering to assess trends and risks.
• Work with Cloud Engineering and App Development to enable scalable deployments.
• Define and enforce database security standards with stakeholders.
• Deploy and manage database objects across environments.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and provide L1–L3 support.
• Contribute to resiliency and transparency initiatives.
