Job summary

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Quality team in Michigan.

This on-site role at Grayling or Auburn Hills requires up to 50% travel to supplier sites and duties include supplier selection, performance monitoring, and corrective action planning to ensure design and quality requirements are met. The Senior SQE will collaborate with engineering on New Product Introductions, manage non-conformances, perform data analysis, and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with supplier quality management systems and auditing practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
• Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspections.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging suppliers at all levels.
• Ability to travel to supplier locations for on-site assessments, audits, and inspections.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Experience driving quality improvements.

Responsibilities

• Supplier selection and evaluation through technical reviews, audits, and site visits.
• Monitor supplier quality metrics and drive improvement opportunities.
• Develop and implement corrective actions with suppliers to address issues.
• Provide technical guidance to suppliers to improve processes and systems.
• Collaborate with engineering for New Product Introduction and First Article Inspections.
• Oversee incoming inspection procedures and perform source inspections.
• Investigate non-conforming products and manage supplier corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data and generate supplier performance reports.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
• Mentor junior quality engineers in supplier quality practices.
