Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a field inspector with extensive sprinkler system experience to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of life safety product lines. The role involves low-voltage wiring, service acknowledgements, and maintaining an organized inspection schedule.

Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills, a valid RME-I license, and the ability to lift heavy equipment. Travel and flexible hours are expected as part of meeting customer needs.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years documented experience in sprinkler systems.
• Texas Department of Insurance requires RME-I license for this position.
• Able to obtain and retain licenses required by codes.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and manuals.
• Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
• Demonstrates an aptitude for troubleshooting systems and repairs.
• Capable of lifting 50-70 lbs.
• Ability to work in ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
• Flexible hours including on-call, nights and weekends.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, installing and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines and similar competitive products.
• Work with low voltage wiring and devices for operation of low voltage equipment.
• Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via laptops or hard copy.
• Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule.
• Input, retrieve and archive inspection documentation via laptop.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes under supervision.
• Complete assigned inspections on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
