Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Splunk Solutions Engineer (SE) to lead technical authority in pre-sales engagements.

You will architect complex solutions, drive proofs-of-value, and collaborate with customers and Cisco teams to win strategic opportunities. The role emphasizes deep expertise in security, observability, and network management, with a track record in RFXs, competitive analyses, and strong communication, including public speaking or technical writing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrated ability in a pre-sales engineering or similar deep technical role (e.g., professional services, security analyst, SRE).
• 5+ years of broad and deep technical knowledge across Security, observability, event, or network management.
• Strong communication and presentation skills with internal partners or external customers.
• Experience with RFXs, competitive analysis, positioning, and competitive bake-offs.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP) and familiarity with automation, APIs, and programmability.

Responsibilities

• Be the Technical Authority: own and win the technical decision and lead complex proofs-of-value.
• Master and promote the architecture and technical details to engineers and executives.
• Design for complex, single-architecture solutions for customer requirements.
• Partner with ecosystem and Account Managers to win strategic opportunities.
• Mentor and scale expertise across the SE community within Cisco.
• Influence product direction with feedback to engineering and business units.
