Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join the Outpatient Rehabilitation: Speech Therapy team. This full-time position (30 hours per week) focuses on comprehensive evaluations and differential diagnosis for patients across ages, in a outpatient clinic setting.

You will collaborate with education, medical, and allied staff, provide patient and caregiver education, and contribute to in-service training.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Current license in Speech-Language Pathology issued by applicable state Board (or temporary license for CFY).
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) issued by ASHA (unless in CFY).
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers, CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive professional evaluations of patients across ages for differential diagnosis of communicative, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and/or swallowing disorders.
• Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Provides patient and caregiver education regarding communicative, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and/or swallowing disorders.
• Serves as speech pathology consultant to educational, medical, and other professional services.
• Participates in in-service education and training of interns, fellows, medical students/residents, and allied personnel.
• Evaluates options for augmentative/alternative communication and recommends/fits appropriate devices or prostheses as needed.
