Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for inpatient acute care to independently diagnose and treat pediatric and adult patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and swallowing disorders. You will participate in rounds, provide education, and ensure continuity of care, with weekend rotation and 365-day coverage expectations.

The role requires a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, NC license, CCC-SLP, and AHA BLS.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required.
• Experience in medical settings preferred.
• Experience with FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing).
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS).
• Experience with Passy-Muir Valve (PMV).

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of differential diagnostic and therapeutic services for inpatients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, feeding, and swallowing disorders.
• Participate in regular rounds and staff training.
• Ensure 365-day coverage including weekends and holidays.
• Document findings and plans in the medical record on the same day as evaluation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
