Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist for our Inpatient Rehabilitation program in Charlotte. The role involves evaluating and treating adults with complex neurologic and medical conditions, collaborating with a wide interdisciplinary team to restore function and maximize independence.

The position supports adult neuro rehab, with a focus on brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, oncology, amputee and general rehab.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology program required.
• Applicable state license for Speech Language Pathology required.
• BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Directs rehab staff, students, and volunteers in delivering SLP care; assists with staff orientation.
• Evaluates patients and plans care, including modalities, exercises, and patient education.
• Gathers data from records and families, interprets results, and selects appropriate assistive devices.
• Documents evaluations, progress notes, discharge notes, and related records.
• Re-evaluates patients as status changes and adjusts goals.
• Communicates evaluation results to physicians and coordinates scheduling and discharge planning.
