Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) seeks a Staff Speech Language Pathologist II to provide both direct and indirect patient care. Working under the Clinical Supervisor, Speech Language Pathology, you will serve adults and/or children, evaluate and treat a variety of speech and language disorders, and maintain comprehensive patient records.

You will also contribute to performance improvement activities, participate in clinical education, and may supervise rehabilitation aides,

Qualifications

  • 12+ months experience as a licensed therapist.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to recognize signs of distress.
  • CPR certification from AHA.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing and online communication.
  • Good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer a full range of speech therapy services for patients with a variety of impairments.
  • Conduct patient evaluations using speech-language pathology tests and measurements.
  • Establish therapeutic intervention goals and develop intervention programs.
  • Implement intervention plans utilizing the scope of practice.
  • Maintain patient records related to delivery of patient care.
  • Supervise support personnel, Rehabilitation Aides, students, and clinical fellows.
  • Participate in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, clinical education, and staff development.
