Job summary

East Hawaii Region Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide diagnostic evaluations and direct speech-language and swallowing services. The role spans acute and long-term care, collaborating with physicians and the care team to create individualized plans for adolescents, adults, and the elderly.

You will conduct screenings, develop therapy plans, monitor progress, and participate in department quality initiatives and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent.
• Current Hawai‘i State license in Speech Pathology and Audiology.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Hawai‘i State driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Conduct speech-language and swallowing screenings, evaluations, and re-evaluations, including instrumental assessments (MBS).
• Develop, implement, and assess individualized speech therapy plans with measurable goals.
• Monitor and document progress, discharge information, and treatment changes.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team on progress and discharge planning.
• Provide age-specific, culturally responsive care for adolescent to geriatric patients.
• Participate in continuing education and policy development for Speech-Language Pathology services.
