You will assess and support students with communication, feeding, and social needs, working directly with children, adolescents, and young adults to develop tailored interventions that promote independence and social engagement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience, especially with autism.
• Current New Jersey SLP certification or eligibility.
• NJ SLD Standard Certificate required.
• Valid New Jersey licensure in Speech Pathology.
• On-site work in a busy educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech, language, feeding, and social skills.
• Analyze diagnostic tests and observations to inform treatment plans.
• Develop and adjust therapeutic interventions in various settings.
• Monitor student progress and align with educational goals.
• Participate in IEP meetings and parent conferences with collaboration across teams.

Overview

As a Senior Speech and Language Specialist, you'll play a vital role in assessing and supporting students with diverse communication, feeding, and social needs. Working directly with children, adolescents, and young adults, you'll develop and implement tailored interventions that promote independence and social engagement. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech, language, feeding, and social skills.
• Analyze diagnostic tests, observations, and input from families and educators to inform personalized treatment plans.
• Develop, implement, and adjust therapeutic interventions, providing both direct and indirect therapy in individual and small group settings.
• Monitor student progress meticulously, ensuring interventions are effective and aligned with their educational goals.
• Participate proactively in IEP meetings and parent conferences, fostering strong collaboration among families, teachers, and Child Study Teams.
• Train and consult with staff and families to ensure consistency and integration of goals across settings.
• Support behavioral programs and engage in physically active activities, including crisis management when necessary.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, especially with students with autism.
• Current New Jersey Speech-Language Specialist certification or eligibility.
• NJ Department of Education Speech Language Specialist Standard Certificate.
• Valid NJ State Licensure in Speech Pathology.
• Comfort working fully on-site in a busy, active educational environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
• Strong school-based clinical background.
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or Clinical Fellow (CF).
