Job summary

Ware Malcomb is seeking a Technical Specifications Writer to develop comprehensive project manuals for Architecture and Interior Design projects. You will collaborate with project teams to create specifications, client masters, and support submittal reviews, applying materials, codes and industry standards to ensure consistent, high-quality outputs.

The role involves mentoring staff, reviewing complex documents, and staying current with industry trends.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design (preferred).
Senior experience: ~15 years in Architecture or Interior Design with at least 5 years writing specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience in construction and construction materials.
Experience using MasterSpec, Bluebeam, MS Word and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare comprehensive project manuals based on information from Management Teams.
Suggest alternate solutions when necessary.
Schedule periodic reviews for complex projects during document development.
Review comments with the Management Team and respond to questions.
Mentor junior staff members.
Stay knowledgeable about products and industry standards and trends.
Serve as a general resource for technical questions and opinions.
