Qualifications

• 8+ years of architectural and specification writing experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of Architectural or Commercial Interiors.
• Minimum of 3 years of increased responsibility in writing, editing, and developing AIA MasterFormat - 3 part specifications.
• Membership in CSI; CDT certification is a plus; CCS, LEED AP, or licensed Architect/Engineer is a plus.
• If driving for ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
• Support management of specification projects and resolve technical/administrative issues.
• Educate architectural design teams on product selection and design considerations.
• Review drawings to write/edit specifications and ensure compliance with codes.
• Plan and prepare construction specifications for project phases.
• Prepare and review Division 01 General Requirements sections.
• Coordinate consultant technical specifications with firm standards.
• Review submittals and substitution requests for compliance.
• Coordinate with internal project teams (structural, MEP, etc.).
• Stay current on building technology and industry trends.
• Develop skills and update in-house MasterSpec masters.
• Maintain industry standards reference library.
• Attend project discussions with clients and follow up on reports.
