Job summary

ECS Group of Companies in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Specification Writer III to join our Southwest Building Science + Infrastructure team. You will research materials, develop detailed specifications, and ensure alignment with project requirements, codes, and standards.

The role requires collaboration with architects, engineers, and project teams to deliver precise, compliant specifications. The ideal candidate has extensive specification writing experience, CSI/ CDT qualifications

Qualifications

• Experience in researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
• Strong knowledge of architectural design, bid documents, engineering coordination.
• Proficiency reading construction drawings and detailing specifications.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam Revu/Studio; Adobe Acrobat; AutoCAD & Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
• Write and edit specifications for projects; coordinate with project requirements and codes.
• Plan and prepare construction specifications across project phases.
• Coordinate consultant specifications with firm standards and project manuals.
• Review submittals, substitutions, and negotiate compliance with specs.
