Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; bachelor's degree preferred.
• 8+ years architectural and specification writing experience.
• 6+ years Architectural or Commercial Interiors experience.
• 3+ years increased responsibility in writing, editing, and developing AIA MasterFormat - 3 part specifications.
• CSI membership; CDT certification a plus; CCS/LEED AP or licensed Architect/Engineer a plus.
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams in researching product materials and manufacturers for architectural projects.
• Manage specification projects and resolve technical and administrative issues.
• Educate design teams on product selection and other design considerations.
• Write and edit specifications and coordinate compliance with codes and standards.
• Prepare construction specifications for project phases and deliverables.
• Review Division 01 General Requirements sections.
• Coordinate consultant specifications with firm standards and formatting conventions.
• Perform product research; assist designers with material selections.
• Coordinate with internal and external disciplines on specifications and project manual.
• Stay current on building technology, codes, and industry trends.
