Insite Legal is seeking a Senior Specialty Finance and Venture Debt Associate in New York with a fully remote option. You will lead debt financing deals, from structuring through closing, while owning client relationships and contributing to the growth of a private credit practice.

The role combines top-tier deal work with a flexible remote or hybrid setup. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of debt finance experience at a leading law firm and NY Bar admission (Delaware a plus).

Senior Specialty Finance and Venture Debt Associate, New York (fully remote option),

If you're a senior finance associate at a top firm, you probably already know where your career is heading. You'll put in a few more years on large deal teams, absorb a few more levels of review, and maybe make partner. Even then, your book and your pay depend on someone else's clients and a lockstep model.

This confidential opportunity is for lawyers who'd rather build something of their own.

My client is a corporate law firm built by attorneys who trained in Big Law. They kept the quality and changed almost everything else. The firm is digital-native from the ground up. It uses lean teams, modern technology and direct partner access, so senior associates spend their time on the legal work and the client rather than on internal process.

The finance practice is growing quickly on the back of private credit. You'd work directly with partners for lenders and borrowers, including private credit funds, specialty finance platforms and venture-backed companies. The firm is usually brought in at the term sheet stage, so you'd take a deal from structuring all the way through closing and post-closing.

• Senior secured asset-based, revolving and delayed-draw facilities
• Forward flow purchase programs and the warehouse facilities behind them
• Bankruptcy-remote receivables financings, including merchant cash advance and revenue purchase assets
• Venture debt and secured bridge financings with warrant packages
• True sale, non-consolidation and enforceability opinion work
• Amendments, waivers, forbearances and borrowing base questions on live facilities

What you'll bring to this Senior Specialty Finance and Venture Debt Associate role

• 8+ years of debt finance experience at a leading law firm, ideally 9th/10th year
• Lender-side or borrower-side work in private credit, asset-based, venture debt or specialty finance
• Strong UCC Article 9 knowledge, including perfection by control, intercreditor and subordination agreements
• New York bar admission, with Delaware a plus
• The confidence to run deal mechanics without supervision, and the commercial instinct clients come back for

Compensation: a base salary of $420,000-$435,000+, plus monthly deal and origination bonuses.
