The Opportunity

This position currently works out of our Saint Paul, Minnesota site.

The Senior Specialist will support the Structural Heart Division. This position will lead and support product stewardship activities and EHS development, implementation, and management of the product stewardship and restricted substance programs.

What You’ll Work On

  • Support implementation of the EU MDR ((EU) 2017/745) regulation at divisional and corporate levels for material compliance.
  • Ensure part and product information is accurately tracked in databases.
  • Ensure compliance with geography-specific restricted substance requirements (e.g., RoHS, REACH, EU MDR) and Abbott Restricted Substance Management (RSM) requirements.
  • Facilitate, track, and collaborate with various groups on component changes in manufacturing, import, distribution, or relocation of products.
  • Work with the Corporate Regulatory/Product Stewardship team and provide updates as needed.
  • Support all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communication with employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in chemistry, biology, or engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.S. degree with 6-8 years of related experience in R&D/S&T, process engineering, product stewardship, manufacturing, inventory control/management, or global sourcing; at least 2 years in Product Stewardship.
  • Experience in restricted substance management (e.g., REACH, RoHS).
  • Medical device manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and planning skills.
  • Sound judgment and ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, both independently and in teams.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, domestically and internationally.

The base pay for this position is $85,300.00 – $170,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
