Apollopros is seeking a Reliability and Systems Safety Engineer to perform reliability and safety analyses across a diverse product portfolio. The role requires collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure product reliability and compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in engineering with 4+ years of Reliability System Safety experience (or a Graduate degree with 2+ years, or 8+ years without a degree) and an active U.S. Secret Clearance.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required; no dual citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of Reliability System Safety experience; or Graduate degree with 2+ years; or 8+ years without a degree.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance must be active at start.
• Desired: MIL-STD-882E knowledge; FEMCAs and PFMEAs experience.

The Reliability and Systems Safety Engineer will perform reliability and safety analyses across a diverse product portfolio. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure product reliability and compliance with safety standards.

Essential Functions:

• Reliability & Safety Analysis (70%) - Develop and maintain reliability and safety models for various systems, including FMECAs (Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analyses), reliability predictions, subsystem hazard analyses, and range safety assessments. Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.
• Design Input & Collaboration (10%) - Provide actionable recommendations to improve product reliability and safety. Collaborate with engineering teams and program stakeholders to integrate reliability principles into design processes.
• Test Planning & Evaluation (5%) - Design and implement reliability test plans for new products and processes. Analyze test anomalies and ensure adherence to quality standards through application of reliability engineering techniques.
• Compliance & Standards (5%) - Drive program compliance with Reliability and System Safety procedures and standard work requirements.
• Risk & Fault Analysis (10%) - Perform Probabilistic Risk Assessments and lead fault tree analyses related to product anomalies.

Skills:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline along with a minimum of 4 years of prior Reliability System Safety experience Technical communications skills
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior Reliability System Safety experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior Reliability System Safety experience.
• Active US Secret Security Clearance.
• Desired: Advanced degree in a related field. Prior technical experience in reliability or systems safety, preferably in aerospace or defense sectors, including development of FEMCAs and PFMECAs and the application of MIL-STD-882E. Formal coursework in Reliability Engineering. Knowledge of solid rocket motor systems is desired.
