Job summary

Merck is seeking a Sr. Specialist to lead and optimize the Ancillary Supply Management (ASM) business systems, data, and reporting.

You will partner with IT, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure data integrity, system functionality, and efficient processes across the ASM domain. Responsibilities include defining requirements, overseeing UAT, driving data governance, and delivering dashboards to enable informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; preferred in IT, business systems, supply chain, or related field.
• 3+ years experience in IT, business systems, clinical operations, supply chain, or related functions.
• Experience with complex business systems, data management, integrations, and process improvements.
• Strong understanding of clinical trial, supply chain, procurement, inventory, logistics, and planning processes.
• Proven ability to lead projects and influence stakeholders in a matrix organization.
• Able to translate business needs into functional requirements and system solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to operate independently while collaborating with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support ASM business systems, integrations, and related technologies across the organization.
• Serve as ASM SME for system functionality, configurations, master data, and business requirements.
• Identify, communicate, coordinate, and drive resolution of system, process, and data issues.
• Ensure continuous operational effectiveness through proactive system support and process optimization.
• Partner with IT and system owners to implement enhancements and upgrades.
• Develop requirements, test strategies, and perform UAT to validate solutions.
• Lead data quality, governance, and compliance initiatives with stakeholders.
• Create dashboards, reports, and metrics supporting ASM operations and decisions.
• Support performance metrics and reporting for the department.
• Maintain ASM tools and reporting solutions; manage master data and data governance.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities for automation and standardization to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Contribute to strategic planning and execution of departmental objectives.
