Job summary

Kundlas Consulting Group LLC is seeking a Special Track Inspector to perform technical inspections of special track work and related materials for high-profile infrastructure projects. You will verify dimensions and conformance to drawings and specifications on site, ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

The role requires five years of experience in track inspections or related QA activities, strong blueprint-reading skills, and knowledge of AWS/ASNT methods.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in one or more of: special track inspections; quality assurance; railroad/transit track inspection and layout systems; or a special track work manufacturing facility.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge of AWS and ASNT inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous castings and forgings, when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect special track work manufactured to Authority drawings and specifications.
• Verify precise dimensions, clearances, and quality requirements.
• Inspect track materials, including nuts, bolts, washers, steel fastener plates, shims, clips, screw spikes, and related components.
• Review engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
• Identify and document nonconforming materials.
• Prepare inspection reports and support material acceptance decisions.
