Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking an Onsite technician to prepare parts for plating, operate plating line equipment, and paint parts. The role also involves abrasive blasting, heat-treating, and precision measurements using micrometers and verniers.

HS diploma or GED required; experience in aerospace or automotive painting and electroplating is preferred. Benefits include medical and retirement programs; this is a full-time, on-site position.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or GED) in the US.
• Experience with painting in an aerospace or automotive setting.
• Experience with electroplating.
• Experience with heat treating.
• Experience with measuring equipment such as micrometers and verniers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare parts for plating.
• Operate plating line equipment.
• Prepare and paint parts.
• Operate blasting machines to prepare parts for production.
• Operate ovens, furnaces and induction machines to heat treat parts.
• Use gauges to measure and perform hardness checks.
• Perform non-destructive inspections (magnetic particle, penetrant, dye check, eddy current).
• Maintain equipment and logs; coordinate priorities across lines.
