Job summary

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital seeks a Senior Special Procedure Tech to support Heart and Vascular procedures. You will assist physicians, perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, and educate patients and families.

This on-site role requires IR expertise, ARRT certifications, and a strong emphasis on patient care, safety, and teamwork within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in Cardiovascular technology/basic science required.
• Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• 3 years of relevant experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist required.
• Employee must be an expert and able to train others in listed clinical skills.
• If department combines specialties, expert in all areas performed.
• Basic computer and math skills, exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Cath Lab must be on site within 30 minutes; IR Call response time varies by facility.
• ARRT radiography/IR CI/VI/RCIS/RCES certifications required on hire or upon hire.
• ACLS and BLS required on hire or within training period.

Responsibilities

• Under limited supervision, provides direct care pre, intra, and post for Heart and/or Vascular procedures.
• May perform IV starts, patient prep, monitor hemodynamics and operate equipment.
• Document procedures and manage vascular access sites.
• Provide patient/family education and care coordination.
