Job summary

Corewell Health in Royal Oak, MI is seeking a Special Procedure Tech to support Heart and Vascular procedures. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, with on-call weekends and hours from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (may extend to 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM).

Under supervision, you will assist physicians during pre, intra, and post care, perform IV starts, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, and educate patients and families.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
• Graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, or associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training/education.
• Clinical experience required through graduation of one of the listed programs.
• 1 year of experience in EP, Cath Lab or IR is required.
• IR requires BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, RT-CV or VI within 2 years of hire.
• Cath Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each site with a maximum of 6 months. Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification.
• EP Lab requires BLS upon hire and ACLS within time frame identified by each individual site with a maximum of 6 months. Registered RCIS/RCES.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care pre, intra, and post for patients undergoing Heart and/or Vascular procedures to assist physicians and deliver quality patient/family centered care.
• May be required to perform IV starts, prep patients, monitor hemodynamics, operate equipment, document procedures, vascular access site management, and provide patient/family education.

Education
