Job summary

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is seeking a Senior Teacher in Towson, MD to support the Education Supervisor in daily operations of the school’s educational and behavioral components.

The role involves direct instruction, supervising staff, mentorship, and contributing to professional development while ensuring compliance with state certification requirements and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state-specific Standard Professional Teaching License.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in special education with emotionally disturbed students.
• At least 1 year of progressive supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students.
• Provide direct instruction to students in pull-out or classroom role model capacity.
• Participate in the hiring process of instructional and resource staff.
• Provide mentorship to teachers and practicum students.
• Support teachers in leading their classroom teams.
• Conduct non-evaluative instructional observations and co-teaching activities.
• Conduct staff development training to meet identified needs.
• Teach and model best practices in instruction.
• Assist in professional development programming and school culture maintenance.
• Maintain rules, safety, and security of students and respond to crises as needed.
• Manage library, media center, and instructional materials and technology resources.
• Inform the Principal of relevant situations and attend required trainings.
