Job summary

The Arrow Center for Education is seeking a Senior Teacher in Maryland to assist the Education Supervisor in daily operations of educational and behavioral components and to ensure compliance with state certification and contractual obligations.

The role involves direct instruction, mentorship of teachers and practicum students, staff development, and supporting classroom leadership while maintaining safety and a positive school culture.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state specific Standard Professional Teaching License.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in special education with emotionally disturbed students.
• At least 1 year of progressive supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe learning environment for students within administrative policies.
• Provide direct instruction to students in pull-out class or as a role model.
• Participate in the hiring process of instructional and resource staff.
• Provide mentorship to teachers and practicum students per policy.
• Support teachers in leading classroom teams.
• Conduct non-evaluation instructional observations and co-teaching.
• Lead staff development training according to identified needs.
• Teach and support the implementation of instructional best practices.
• Assist in design and maintenance of professional development programs.
• Maintain positive school culture and safety procedures.
• Manage library, media center, and technology resources.
• Inform the Principal of relevant situations and attend trainings.
