Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Spaceflight Structural Hardware Systems Engineer to join a team supporting NASA Johnson Space Center onsite. The role emphasizes developing and maintaining hardware requirements, performing system-level analyses, and ensuring traceability across life-cycle processes.

The successful candidate will drive verification planning, participate in critical design reviews, and collaborate with NASA personnel to manage risk and ensure safety and compliance in space hardware projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (required).
• 5–10 years of related experience typical. License/certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development, review, and maintenance of requirements and verification plans in the NASA JSC Flight Hardware Life Cycle, Certification, and Engineering processes.
• Prepare and present materials for system life cycle phasing, including SRR, PDR, and CDR.
• Identify risks with team members and develop risk statements and responses.
• Perform system-level architecture trade studies and analyses to influence design and performance.
• Utilize requirements management tools such as DOORS, Cradle or Jama.
• Create and manage requirements from NASA Program down to contractor projects and interface definitions between subsystems.
• Maintain professional relationships with NASA customers and support contractors.
• Perform other tasks assigned.
