Job summary

Astrion is seeking an Electronic Component Engineer for the NASA Johnson Space Center via the JETSII contract. The role leads electronics component engineers and provides EEE parts support to NASA projects, with a focus on part qualification, derating, and specialist testing for space flight.

The candidate will collaborate with NASA customers, review part lists, and assist in NSPAR activities, NSPAR documentation, and failure investigations. Onsite work at NASA Johnson Space Center is required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering school and 10 years of related engineering experience.
• Prior experience leading a technical team.
• Interfaces with NASA customer on a regular basis and coordinates team assignments.

Responsibilities

• Lead Electronics Component Engineers on multiple NASA projects.
• Provide EEE parts support to NASA programs and GFE Flight Projects.
• Evaluate EEE parts lists for hardware criticality and environments.
• Review part specifications, screening, and derating for space flight use.
• Assist NSPAR development and NSAR processes for part approval.
• Develop part specifications and test procedures for space level parts.
• Support labs and manufacturers with technical assistance.
