AST SpaceMobile seeks a Senior Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and support embedded flight software for spacecraft systems in the United States. The role emphasizes leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and lifecycle coverage from architecture through deployment.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in embedded software, C/C++, RTOS, Linux, FPGA/SoC, HDL, debugging, and software development tooling.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in embedded software or firmware development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++, including C++11+.
• Experience with HDL and FPGA/SoC integration.
• RTOS and Linux environments experience.
• Embedded interfaces: RS-232/ RS-485/ CAN/ SPI.
• Real-time embedded system development and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded flight software.
• Integrate software with spacecraft hardware and HDL designs.
• Lead technical work within Flight Software team.
• Collaborate across electrical, FPGA, and systems teams.
• Support integration, verification, and test activities.
• Perform debugging and root-cause analysis across interfaces.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and schedules.
