Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is recruiting a Senior Flight Software Engineer to design, develop, and support embedded flight software for spacecraft systems. You will work across full software lifecycle, from architecture to deployment, collaborating with electrical, FPGA, and systems teams.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, RTOS experience, and HDL/FPGA proficiency, with 6+ years in embedded software and a track record in resource-constrained environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in embedded software or firmware development.
• Experience with RTOS environments and real-time systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, including modern standards.
• Experience with FPGA/SoC and HDL (Verilog/VHDL).
• Embedded communication protocols (RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI).
• Linux proficiency and command-line development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded flight software for spacecraft.
• Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams across hardware and software.
• Lead architecture decisions and drive system verification and integration.
• Support hardware/software integration and troubleshooting across interfaces.
