Job summary

Star Catcher invites a Senior Embedded & Flight Software Engineer to help build the software powering the Star Catcher Network and future space missions. You will develop onboard flight and payload software, plus ground systems for development, integration, and operations.

The role requires extensive C/C++ expertise, RTOS experience, and hands-on hardware collaboration. You will participate in design reviews, establish standards, and mentor junior engineers in a fast-paced, early-stage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of embedded software experience on real-time systems.
• Experience delivering complex embedded projects from architecture through deployment.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate real-time embedded software for spacecraft payloads and subsystems.
• Develop software for spacecraft bus management and telemetry processing.
• Collaborate with hardware team for board bring-up and integration, including SpaceVPX/VPX systems.
• Create automated test suites and include fault-injection testing and HIL experiences.
• Support ground software tools, automation, and mission operations.
