Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design and develop flight software for spacecraft. You will work in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting, integrating with hardware, conducting tests, and supporting on-orbit operations.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills, RTOS and Linux experience, and the ability to work across cross-disciplinary teams to deliver reliable, safe software for space systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems and real-time operating systems.
• Must be clearance eligible and ability to maintain an active Secret Clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded flight software for spacecraft systems.
• Develop and maintain reliable software for resource-constrained, safety-critical systems.
• Develop and debug multithreaded software with synchronization and IPC.
• Integrate software with OBCs, radios, and payloads in HITL/flatsat environments.
• Translate ICDs and system/hardware specs into robust software interfaces.
• Create and execute unit, integration, system, and mission-level tests.
• Support on-orbit operations, debugging, and anomaly resolution.
• Collaborate with platform, applications, mission ops, and hardware teams.
• Ensure cybersecurity principles in software design (secure boot, signing).
