Job summary

Blue Origin, headquartered on Merritt Island, seeks a Thermal Engineer to advance spacecraft thermal systems within the Lunar Permanence unit. The role emphasizes architecture development, modeling, and rigorous component sizing to ensure safe, reliable operation in multiple mission phases.

You will perform steady-state and transient analyses, conduct hand calculations to validate complex models, and develop vehicle-level thermal models using SINDA/FLUINT and Thermal Desktop.

Responsibilities

• Develop thermal system architectures, model thermals, size components, and design hardware.
• Perform trade studies related to material and subsystem hardware.
• Perform hand calculations to screen concepts and sanity check FEM results.
• Develop vehicle-level thermal models using SINDA/FLUINT with Thermal Desktop.
• Develop and maintain system analysis documentation.
• Perform steady state and transient thermal analyses across ground, TVAC, launch, and orbit environments.
• Provide thermal leadership for TVAC test procedures, scripts, and installation designs.
• Provide thermal leadership for hardware design, documentation.
