Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington state is seeking a Senior Thermal Engineer to define and develop spacecraft thermal control systems. You will model system- and component-level thermal behavior using Thermal Desktop, validate predictions against test data, and document results for cross-team use.

The role requires a solid foundation in thermal fundamentals, 8 years of relevant experience with Thermal Desktop, and strong collaboration skills to drive reliable, manufacturable solutions for spaceflight

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8 year relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience with Thermal Desktop.
• Solid understanding of thermal fundamentals.
• Demonstrated thermal analysis skills.
• Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, including model validation and test correlation.

Responsibilities

• Developing system-level thermal analysis models of spacecraft at varying levels of maturity and detail with minimal supervision
• Anchoring thermal predictions to test data
• Communicating and collaborating clearly and effectively with multiple teams both as a customer and provider of fluid and thermal data
• Documenting your work for future reference and later refinement
• Advocating for methods that will improve component and analysis performance and reliability
