Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Engineer — Spacecraft Structures & Mechanisms to design, analyze, and test mechanical hardware for spacecraft. You will work with CAD tools to develop designs from requirements through manufacturing and assembly.

On-site work at Dulles/Colshire campuses with travel. Requires US citizenship and ability to obtain government clearance; CREO experience and GD&T proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of professional experience OR Master’s degree with 10+ years of professional experience.
• U.S. Citizenship required to obtain government clearance.
• Ability to work on-site full-time at the Dulles or Colshire campus.
• Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably CREO.
• Ability to travel (<10%).
• Ability to perform structural engineering tasks for design, manufacturing, and testing of structures.

Responsibilities

• Work on spacecraft structures, payload, and antenna mechanical hardware from requirements through integration and test.
• Perform detailed design tasks using CAD to develop and document designs for manufacturing and assembly into spacecraft.
• Interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft disciplines, and component suppliers.
• Develop test plans and procedures and support structural testing at the component and spacecraft levels.
• Self-motivated and provide technical solutions to difficult problems under general supervision.
