Job Responsibilities

• Work on all Spacecraft Structures, Payload, and Antenna mechanical hardware from requirements all the way through integration and test.
• Perform detailed design tasks using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document designs for manufacturing and ultimately assembly into spacecraft.
• Interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft engineering disciplines, and component suppliers.

• Expected to be self‑motivated and provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems under general supervision.

Basic Qualifications

• Level2: Bachelor’s degree with2years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with0years of professional experience.
• Level3: Bachelor’s degree with5years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with2years of professional experience.
• No clearance required to start.
• Ability to work on‑site full time at the Dulles or Colshire campus.
• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain government clearance.
• Experience with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software, preferably CREO.
• Ability to travel (<10%).
• Ability to perform structural engineering tasks associated with design, manufacturing, and testing of structures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS and/or TS/SCI Clearance.
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and preparation of manufacturing documentation.
• Experience with 3D Printing, Design for Manufacturing, and hands‑on hardware fabrication.
• Experience with the fundamentals of spacecraft (or similar hardware) to include layout, design, and build.

Salary Range

Primary Level: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00. Secondary Level: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
