Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior engineer to lead structural analysis for lunar transportation components. You will develop finite element models, evaluate load paths, and validate designs against test data to ensure safe, reliable hardware within cost and schedule constraints.

The role requires extensive experience in spacecraft structures, both metallic and composite, and proficiency with major FE tools. Collaboration with NASA and partners is essential.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in spacecraft structural analysis.
  • Strong background in static/dynamic structural analysis.
  • Experience with loads, dynamics and validation.
  • Proficiency with Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna or Optistruct.
  • Experience with metallic and composite structures.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of load path from conceptual to drawing release and hardware creation
  • Analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft structures
  • Integration of structural analysis with loads and dynamics environments
  • FE Model development, refinement, validation and correlation to tests
  • Strength checks and analysis report generation
  • Test and verification plan and report generation
  • Support configuration development and trade studies
