Job summary

Aegis Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Senior Loads & Dynamics Engineer to support NASA spaceflight programs at Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Florida. This role provides expert analysis in structural dynamics, coupled loads, modal analysis, and FE modeling to NASA teams.

The selected candidate will independently assess analyses, review contractor models, and deliver risk-informed recommendations. Senior/ SME level with 10+ years of relevant experience; onsite at KSC with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited school.
• At least 10 years in loads, structural dynamics, FEA for spacecraft/launch-vehicle analyses; SME level if 15+ years.
• Experience with dynamic FEA and modal analysis.
• Ability to interpret results and communicate risks and recommendations.
• Experience with software such as NASTRAN, FEMAP, or comparable tools.
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C, or C++ for analysis and scripting.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work cross-functionally.
• Willingness to work onsite at Kennedy Space Center and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent assessment of loads and structural-dynamics analyses for spacecraft, payloads, and launch systems.
• Develop, review, and evaluate finite element models for dynamics and loads analyses.
• Perform modal, transient, frequency-response, random-vibration, shock analyses and related tasks.
• Identify critical modes, load paths, and interfaces affecting design and verification.
• Correlate analyses with test data and support model validation activities.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria; document results.
• Engage with NASA and industry partners in reviews and engineering exchanges.
• Document and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
