Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring a Software Systems Engineer for the Spacecraft Systems Engineering team. You will connect flight software to ground operations and test engineering, shaping requirements, architecture, and verification across the life cycle.

Work closely with spacecraft development engineers, flight software developers, and operations teams to ensure interfaces are robust and verification-friendly. Relocation and travel support may be provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years aerospace experience.
• Understanding of systems engineering fundamentals and multiple lifecycle phases.
• Experience with spacecraft flight software design/architecture (e.g. cFS, F Prime).
• Experience developing or testing flight software.
• Citizenship and security-clearance considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define system level software requirements and allocations for spacecraft.
• Coordinate software architecture strategy and implementation.
• Create guidelines for software development, implementation, and verification.
• Oversee software development resources and ICDs.
• Conduct software life cycle reviews and acceptance tests.
• Review software management plans and verification activities.
• Oversee flight software verification and spacecraft integration testing.
• Mentor engineering teams on flight software and conops.
• Coordinate with internal users to ensure adequate interfaces.
• Develop understandable, verifiable software requirements.
