Job summary

True Anomaly, Inc. is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Simulation Software Engineer to lead the development of high-fidelity multi-physics simulators for spacecraft and constellation modeling.

You will own significant simulation components, implement 6DOF dynamics, thermal and propulsion modeling, and contribute to architectural decisions while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BS in aerospace, mechanical, CS, physics, applied mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of professional software development in simulation, scientific computing, or aerospace.
• Proficiency in modern C++ (C++17+), STL, templates, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in Python, API design, scripting, and data analysis.
• Independent and able to drive complex technical efforts with minimal direction.
• Domain knowledge in ADCS, GNC, thermal control, power systems, propulsion, orbital mechanics, or HIL/SIL.
• V&V experience with physics-based models and uncertainty quantification.
• Strong communication; U.S. citizen eligible for DoD clearance

Responsibilities

• Design and implement multi-physics simulation software across spacecraft subsystems.
• Develop coupled physics algorithms capturing subsystem interactions.
• Design time-stepping algorithms, solver architectures, and integration schemes.
• Write production-quality C++ with focus on performance and testability.
• Design and maintain robust APIs in C++ and Python.
• Collaborate with mission planning, GNC, and systems engineering teams.
• Create documentation, examples, and user guides.
• Drive architectural decisions for simulation subsystems and perform code reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers through pair programming.
• Contribute to sprint planning, estimation, and technical risk assessment.
• Participate in hiring through technical interviews and candidate assessment.
