Job summary

Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Company, seeks a Mechanical Technician Senior in El Segundo, CA to support fabrication, integration and test of space flight systems and support equipment. You will interpret blueprints and specifications to assemble and inspect spacecraft components.

This 2nd-shift, onsite role requires collaboration with engineering and manufacturing, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in Structures/Mechanical/Electrical/Final Assembly.
• 3+ years following written and verbal work instructions.
• 3+ years using blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and SOPs.
• 3+ years using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators).
• Able to stand/move for extended periods and lift 20 lbs+ regularly.

Responsibilities

• Assembles, installs, tests, checks out and inspects mechanical spacecraft assemblies per blueprints, drawings and specs.
• Performs verifications and visually inspects assemblies to drawings and SOPs.
• Operates material handling equipment and various machine tools.
• Collaborates with Design/Manufacturing Engineering, Materials, Procurement and Shipping on quality issues.
• Cross-trains/mentors new hires.
• Maintain 100% onsite work requirements.
