Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States is seeking an experienced External Loads Analyst to design and analyze the Transfer Stage spacecraft. This role focuses on loads development, integration with other systems, and supporting subsystems with static and dynamic loads environments.

Responsibilities include FE model development, rigid/flex dynamics, data interpretation of tests, and trade studies to optimize structural performance for lunar missions.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace or civil engineering.
  • 6+ years in prediction/validation of structural dynamics and loads, plus FE modeling.
  • Solid foundation of static/dynamic fundamentals.
  • Passion for spacecraft loads development/validation.
  • Ability to solve static/dynamic problems using analytical methods and tools.
  • Experience with Craig-Bampton model reduction and coupled analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests.
  • Rigid and flexible body dynamics modeling, simulation, and verification of launch, docking, and landing events.
  • Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests.
  • General loads development for spacecraft and related ground systems.
  • Support configuration development and trade studies.
