Job summary

Varda Space Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Spacecraft Flight Software Engineer to determine spacecraft behavior in orbit and build reliable software for flight operations.

You will own the full software lifecycle from requirements through testing and flight support. Join a team of veterans from SpaceX and Blue Origin in El Segundo, CA, building in-space infrastructure with a strong emphasis on safety-critical systems and end-to-end verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical field with safety-critical software experience.
• 5+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with C++ language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable flight software for spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Own design, testing, and integration across development lifecycle.
• Perform requirements capture and initial design trades for open-ended problems.
• Ensure system quality via software test, verification, and validation.

Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or equivalent technical experience in safety critical software
