Job summary

Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Senior Spacecraft Embedded Software Engineer to lead software for flight systems in orbit. You will own the software lifecycle from requirements capture through testing and flight operations support.

You will write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded C++ for spacecraft, buses, and reentry capsules, ensuring reliability and safety-critical performance with V&V techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with safety-critical software experience.
• 5+ years developing spacecraft or similar safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and understanding of language concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware for spacecraft, satellite buses, and reentry capsules.
• Own software development from design to testing and integration.
• Capture requirements and perform design trades for open-ended problems.
• Write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux-based embedded software in C++.
• Ensure system reliability via testing, V&V techniques.
• Maintain high-quality software for mission-critical operations.
