Job summary

Impulse Space in Redondo Beach is seeking a Senior Avionics Electrical Engineer to design, test, build, and deliver spacecraft electrical systems, including power conversion, batteries, and sensors. You will own hardware from architecture sketches through flight, collaborating with propulsion, GNC, software, and structures teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (minimum).
• 5+ years of professional experience in analog, power, or control electronics for spacecraft or similar vehicles.
• Proficiency in electronics selection, analysis, simulation, schematics, and layout.
• Experience troubleshooting electronics at board or system level.
• Desire to improve team processes and train others.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop circuit boards for spacecraft with emphasis on analog, digital, or control electronics.
• Contribute to spacecraft avionics architecture trade studies.
• Perform analyses and simulations of avionics devices and systems.
• Own hardware design from bring-up through qualification and flight operations.
• Define hardware interfaces and verify requirements.
• Establish high technical standards and mentor junior engineers.
• Partner with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing and test teams.
