Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Principal Space Vehicle Autonomy Architect to lead on-orbit autonomy strategies across Blue Ring and constellation lines. You will participate in trade studies, develop mission requirements, and oversee autonomous operations with national security, civil, and commercial customers.

Strong leadership, extensive autonomy experience, and a prompter pace with rigorous quality standards are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering, or related technical subject area
• 10+ years in space mission design and autonomous systems
• 10+ years in space autonomy domain including on-orbit operations
• Experience developing space autonomy CONOPs and requirements
• Experience with fleet-level autonomy and RPO throughout lifecycle
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, STK, FreeFlyer, GMAT or equivalent
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• U.S. citizen or eligible for security clearance

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to identify and track autonomy deliverables
• Author proposal documents for national security and civil/government entities
• Coordinate with GNC, ATX, Flight Software, and Sensor/Payload teams for trade studies
• Establish goals and metrics to optimize autonomy performance
• Lead development of on-orbit autonomy architectures and multi-spacecraft coordination
• Create verification and testing processes to ensure requirements compliance
• Mentor teams and support live mission autonomy operations
